All parties must follow principals for ethical professional practices to be able to publish their research in this Publication.

Author(s) must verify and ensure that submitted research follows all established submission requirements. Otherwise, the editorial office will follow Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and may reach one of the following decisions/actions:

Plagiarism

We only accept research articles based on author’s own research and written in author’s own words (e.t. are original). Any use of the ideas, words, or work done by someone else without proper citing, will be considered plagiarism.

Common types of plagiarism:

Form of plagiarism	Description
Direct Plagiarism	Use of exact text, sentences, paragraphs in a document from work of other authors or slightly alter someone else’s ideas to present them as your own without appropriate citation or acknowledgement.
Paraphrasing	Rewording of ideas or paraphrasing work of other researchers without proper acknowledgement or proper citation (including "Patchwriting").
Self-plagiarism	Reusing parts of your own previously published work without proper citation. Please note, that self-citation may be accepted only if used to enhance research and to reach new conclusions. Such work must be properly cited.

Copying pictures, graphs, and tables without proper attribution (citation or quotation marks) or without authorization to use could also be considered plagiarism.

Every submission will be verified using the Similarity Check service, «Crossref Similarity Check», to help Editorial Office verify article originality. Some similarity found in article submission may be acceptable, if not significant or critical. Author could be asked to rephrase certain similarities. All cases of plagiarism will be investigated by the editorial office following COPE guidelines.

Editorial office reserves the right to use its own format to notify author about found similarities (describing or using screenshots). Full report on conducted verification will not be provided (this is against international practices).

Complaints about plagiarism in published research

We pay close attention to each complaint about plagiarism found in published research and investigate each instance prior to taking any further actions.

We are not required to discuss possible cases of plagiarism with third parties, and reserve the right to not institute any actions if complaint was anonymous or complainant behaves unprofessionally or acts aggressively towards Publication staff.

Citation Manipulation

While writing research article, please be aware of the following unethical citation practices:

Citation type	Description
Excessive self-citation	Excessive self-citation is intended to inflate citation counts for personal gain. Self-citation is allowed only in cases where it is necessary to support new research (to help reach new conclusions or support new results).
Coercive citation	Coercive citation could happen at any stage of article processing. Autor may be offered to cite or reference work of other authors, which believed by author, editor or the reviewer, would enhance the ideas or statement made in their paper. If such proposals have no reasonable grounds, it could be deemed unethical. If you feel forced to include references to someone else’s work, please immediately reach out to Publication at fta@fta.org.ua.
Unnecessary Citation	Include unnecessary or irrelevant citations or references to inflate the journal's impact factor and artificially boost the journal's or researcher’s reputation. If such unethical behaviors are uncovered, we will take actions in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Duplicate Publication

Work submitted for publishing must be original and not previously published. Also, research cannot be submitted to or be considered for publishing by more than one academic journal.

Data Falsification / Fabrication And Manipulation

Data fabrication and manipulation may impact research integrity and is unethical.

Files containing images may not be changed or in any way altered that may cause any misinterpretation (for example, change the image to enhances presenter’s position).

In the case of data presented in the article is suspected to be inaccurate, we reserve the right to investigate and request data from original source. If investigation does not yield sufficient evidence of data integrity, we reserve the right to reject such submission and may institute necessary action based on COPE guidelines.

Authorship

We are following International Council of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) criteria and guideline to define authorship. Author is someone, who:

If participant does not meet listed above criteria, he/she should not be included in the Acknowledgement section.

Please note that in case of multiple authors, the one corresponding with the Publication must specify individual contribution of each author. We use Contributor Roles Taxonomy CrediT system to describe each contributor’s specific contribution to the article output. Each contribution must be specified in the «Cover Letter» form and submitted along with the article manuscript.

In naming authors, please remember that following practices are considered unethical and may lead to article retraction or more serious disciplinary actions and possible reputational damages:

Gift authorship	Where researcher is named co-author without contributing much or any work to the article
Ghost authorship	Where a person who qualifies for authorship on an article is not included as an author to cover possible conflict of interest
Misrepresentations in the list of authors	Where authors are included (without his/her knowledge to enhance credibility of the study) or co-authors are unfairly excluded from the list

Where appropriate, we will follow COPE guidelines to resolve any authorship related issues.

If such issue cannot be resolved by us, we may seek help from institution where author is employed.

Conflict of Interest

All authors, reviewers, and editors must report all potential conflict of interest. Authors must report all instances that may have influenced their own research, may have influenced review process or may have impacted publishing. Even if you are unsure whether certain situation create conflict of interest, please reach out to editorial staff or the Publication prior to submission for clarification.

You must include information on third party financial support of your research and any other situations that may create potential conflict of interest in the «Cover Letter» form.

If you foresee that editor may have conflict of interest, please notify the Publisher via email fta@fta.org.ua, so we could ensure independence in reviewing your work.

Any editor or editorial board member who decided to submit his/her own article for publication as author or co-author will be removed from editorial process.

We will follow COPE guidelines to resolve any conflict-of-interest cases.

Ethical Considerations in Research

When writing an article, authors must adhere to appropriate international and national procedures regarding the following:

Authors must provide the editor with all consent forms received as supporting documents. In case of non-compliance of the research with mandatory procedures, the Editorial Board will act in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Confidentiality

This Publication uses double anonymized peer review process. Therefore, we ask all parties to maintain complete confidentiality and not disclose author and/or reviewer identity. It is extremely important for author to ensure his/her manuscript does not contain any personal identifiable information.

To simplify this process, we developed a form that would help author to separate all personal metadata from the text of an article. Please pay attention to used self-citations that could allow reviewer to identify author.

Editorial office will verify and remove all personal identifiable information prior to submitting for peer-review and after receiving comments from reviewers that need to be forwarded to the authors.
