Abstract
The article analyzes modern condition and tendencies of development of chemical industry in Ukraine and other countries. The article describes the structure of modern domestic chemical industry, which is represented by major the enterprises, whichproduction facilities are declining and new small enterprises and micro-enterprises, most of which implements a separate stage in the production of chemical products using intermediates of foreign manufacturers. The conclusion is made about the necessity of orientation of the domestic chemical industry on the development of small businesses and the important role of the system of higher technical education in support of this direction and the revival of the chemical industry with qualifi ed engineering personnel.
